Church Picnic and The 20th Anniversary of GFC

This week GFC is celebrating its 20th birthday! On Sunday we will have one joint service at 10:00 AM, and afterwards we are planning a lunch with various activities and plenty of time for fellowship. But the celebrations are actually beginning the day before on Saturday, October 7, with a church picnic at Gibson Ranch Park starting at 10:00 AM. Please don’t be late! Invite your friends.

The deacons of the church are asking all to prepare these next 4 things:
- Prepare $6 for the park entrance fee.
- Bring camping chairs for yourself to sit on.
- Bring something sweet for tea and fruits/berries to share with others.
- Water for personal use before and after lunch.
Lunch will be prepared by the church team. After the service and lunch we will have time for fellowship. We are also organizing a volleyball tournament for everyone willing. Teams will consist of people from small groups. If you won’t be playing, you’ll have an opportunity to support your favorite team. Since the park itself is beautiful, you’ll also have an opportunity to go on walks and have fellowship in nature.

Hermeneutics Class
This course is being offered for anyone who would like to strengthen and develop their Scripture study skills. We understand that the Word of God is the source of truth. And it is not only instrumental in salvation but also in the sanctification of the believer. This means that it is vitally important not only to know the Scriptures, but also to be able to rightly interpret and apply them. This is exactly what Hermeneutics does. This course is required for those who teach or communicate the truth in their ministry and it is open for everyone else. The class is free and meetings will be every third Sunday of the month. It is being offered in both Russian and English with the first meeting on October 15th.

Below are the services and meetings for this weekend:
- Thursday (6:30 PM) – Kid’s Bible School (open to all but required for parents), followed by Bible Study (Proverbs) for the whole church at 7:30 PM with Communion.
- Saturday (10:00 AM – 4:00 PM) – Church Picnic
- Sunday service at 10:00 AM – with lunch and different activities throughout the church’s building and parking lot after the service
